Our History
Jerusalem Foods began with the vision of Founder and President Albert Batshon. In 1976, while operating the Falafil Palace restaurant in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he noticed a high demand for wholesome food such as falafil. He was inspired to produce falafil for home consumers through the retail industry.
As the desire for whole some food grew, Albert Batshon expanded his product line to meet that demand. Hence, his restaurant based production company grew into a 2,000 square foot distribution center!
Recognizing the benefits of gluten-free and wheat free product, Jerusalem Foods evolved into World Pure Foods to incorporate the range products available to customer.
Today, World Pure Foods remains a family-owned business, operated by Albert's sons Sam and Ron Batshon. Together, they have built on their father's dream of providing wholesome food at excellent price, by expanding the ditribution center in Dearborn, Michigan, into a 70,000 square foot operation with over 5,000 products from 150 companies around the world. World Pure Foods distributes their products to over 2,000 customers throughout the Midwest in USA.
